Established and funded by the Federal Government, Adelaide Primary Health Network (PHN) is a not-for-profit organisation and one of 31 PHNs operating across Australia – one of two in SA. Adelaide PHN covers all of the Adelaide metropolitan region, from Sellicks Hill in the south, Angle Vale in the north, from the beaches in the west and foothills in the east. This area is home to 1.2 million people – the vast majority of the South Australian population.
Adelaide PHN is a membership-based organisation, focused on improving health outcomes and your experience of primary health care within the Adelaide metropolitan region. We do not deliver health services, but work by commissioning and integrating innovative health services and activities to the needs of our community.
Specifically, Adelaide PHN is tasked to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of health services for people, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes and improve coordination of care to ensure people receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
Adelaide PHNs work is framed around the following national and local priorities
